چکیده

We analyze the chiral p-wave superconductor in the low temperature region. The superconductor has a εxpx + iεypy-wave gap in two dimensional space (2D). Near the second superconducting transition point, the system could be described by a quasi-1D chiral p-wave model in 2D. The axial anomaly occurs in such a model and causes an accumulation of the quasiparticle in an inhomogeneous magnetic field. The effect is related to the winding number of the gap.

New critical point induced by the axial anomaly in dense QCD.

We study the interplay between chiral and diquark condensates within the framework of the Ginzburg-Landau free energy, and classify possible phase structures of two and three-flavor massless QCD. The QCD axial anomaly acts as an external field applied to the chiral condensate in a color superconductor and leads to a crossover between the broken chiral symmetry and the color superconducting phas...

Plane Wave Reflection and Transmission from Uni- and Bi-Axial Chiral Slabs

In this paper, the propagation of electromagnetic waves through an infinite slab of uni- or bi- axial chiral medium is analytically formulated for an arbitrary incidence using 4×4 matrix method. In this powerful method, a state vector differential equation is extracted whose solution is given in terms of a transition matrix relating the tangential components of electric and magnetic fields at t...

Quasiclassical Green’s function theory of the Josephson effect in chiral p-wave superconductor/diffusive normal metal/chiral p-wave superconductor junctions

We study the Josephson effect in chiral p-wave superconductor/diffusive normal metal DN /chiral p-wave superconductor CP/DN/CP junctions using quasiclassical Green’s function formalism with proper boundary conditions. The px+ ipy-wave symmetry of superconducting order parameter is chosen which is believed to be the pairing state in Sr2RuO4. We show that the superconducting pair amplitude induce...

Chirality sensitive effect on surface states in chiral p-wave superconductors.

We study the local density of states at the surface of a chiral p-wave superconductor in the presence of a weak magnetic field. As a result, the formation of low-energy Andreev bound states is either suppressed or enhanced by an applied magnetic field, depending on its orientation with respect to the chirality of the p-wave superconductor. Similarly, an Abrikosov vortex, which is situated not t...

Anomalies and the chiral magnetic effect in the Sakai-Sugimoto model

In the chiral magnetic effect an imbalance in the number of leftand righthanded quarks gives rise to an electromagnetic current parallel to the magnetic field produced in noncentral heavy-ion collisions. The chiral imbalance may be induced by topologically nontrivial gluon configurations via the QCD axial anomaly, while the resulting electromagnetic current itself is a consequence of the QED an...
